Welcome to
Rimu Foundation
To aid our community and the worlds’ transition towards a sustainable future through education, art, empowerment and leadership.
Our mission is to aid our community and the worlds’ transition towards a sustainable future through education, art, empowerment and leadership.
Our vision is to create a sustainably designed space embedded in nature, that serves as educational hub for the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand.
Inspirational seeds of sustainability will be planted in the minds of visitors, the community, workshop participants and students through interactive nature art exhibits, evolving permaculture food forest, educational programs, indigenous land management practices, social enterprise development, youth capacity building, cultural exchange programs, holistic retreats, kids’ nature projects, and environmental science and technologically innovative partnerships.
Leading by example, we engage, listen, inspire and enable community empowerment.
Connecting, partnering and integrating, we draw on the collective skills, knowledge and strength of our region.
Creating productive partnerships, we explore and trial innovative approaches and new technologies.
Balancing the environmental, social and economic needs of today without compromising the ability to meet the needs of the future generations.
Embracing change, we boldly respond to the challenges ahead, actively seeking new ideas and opportunities.
We have a role in collecting, curating and sharing the knowledge that exists within our programs and the environment.
